Personal Art Commissions

By requesting a commission from me, you agree that you understand and accept these terms.

01.

General

  • Limited slots are open at a time. If slots are full, you will be added to a wait list.
  • No NSFW, gore
  • Commissions will be drawn in my art style, not realism or any other artist’s style.
  • I reserve the right to reject any order for any reason.

02.

Payment Methods

  • Commissions are paid 100% upfront
  • Payment for additional changes is due in full before the final artwork is released to you.
  • Don’t send me any payment before I have agreed to give you a slot and requested you to send me the payment.
  • The ONLY accepted currencies and payment methods are: 
  1. USD (US Dollar) paid through PayPal.
  2. ZAR (South African Rand) paid through EFT.

03.

Revisions

  • The price includes 2 revision rounds on the draft sketch.
  • A fee will be added if you want something changed after the sketch has been approved – unless there is a misunderstanding on my part.
  • Additional changes will be charged extra and calculated at an hourly rate.

04.

Process Time

  • The time it takes to finish your commission will vary from 1 week to 2 months depending your place in the queue. I will however do my best to complete your project in a timely manner.

05.

What do you receive?

  • A coloured draft sketch for approval and must be accepted before I continue with the artwork.
  • High quality final artwork.
  • No physical product will be delivered, only the digital artwork via email.

06.

Cancellation

  • The client is not allowed a refund once the artwork has been started.
  • If for any reason I am unable to start your project or if you cancel before I start, you will receive a full refund.

07.

Copyright & usage

I, Cheslea May (the artist): 

  • I reserve the right to cancel and refund the order at any time for any reason. 
  • I retain all copyrights over the commissioned artwork. 
  • I will NOT claim the intellectual property (IP) of the commissioned artwork. 
  • I will NOT profit further from the commissioned artwork unless you (the client) break any of the terms. 
  • I reserve the right to showcase the commissioned artwork online, in my portfolio as well as in publications such as art books.

You (the client/commissioner): 

  • You may upload the commissioned artwork on any website and social channels as long as you credit @chesleamay as the artist.
  • You may NOT make any profits from the commissioned artwork (reselling, redistributing, uploading to POD-services, selling prints, etc.)
  • You retain the rights to the intellectual property (IP). 
  • You may NOT use the commissioned artwork for commercial purposes.

The following is considered copyright infringement:

  • Reproducing/ using the copyrighted artwork commercially – means making money off it in any way not excluded from these terms. 
  • Claiming the artwork as your own
  • Altering the artwork without my consent.
  • If you would like a commercial licence, please contact me via email.
  • Clients who are dishonest and disingenuous will be blacklisted from commissioning me again.
